Unleash your Inner Human

The last time I remember really enjoying being honest about being a geek was when I started my PhD, and before that, teaching in an inner-city London comprehensive (UK free school system). In these two places there was no glass ceiling on how to be yourself, no limitations on how to think and never an agenda on blocking aspirations to dream big.

Last week we took Lumenai out of hiding and to Unleash America, a super cool HR Tech conference set up by Marc Coleman in the middle of the desert, Las Vegas. Aniko Illes, the most human of humans, and designated person in charge of start-ups, steadied our landing and opened our mind (and shoe choice) to the possibilities of walking the HR Tech thought leadership and iterated networking space.

Lumenai is a geek child of the desire to damn-well-code human skills into quantifiable and actionable measurements, so they are accessible to all at the touch of a touchpad. We figured, if we could code the whole of human skills academia and then map it against all forms of team effectiveness, then we might actually have a chance of genuinely breaking up the old fuddy duddy order of unconscious bias, access to opportunity and general human misrepresentation.

We have bootstrapped our tech baby, stakeholdered the stakeholder out of it, PoC’d and are now a Beta offering for cool forward-thinking C-Suites who like adopting tech babies. The future is a B2C digital human/professional/people/soft skill digital portfolio that anyone, yes literally anyone, can engage with to self-represent their above capabilities in a validated, egalitarian way. But for now, it’s a B2B wearing a HR 4 HR hat.

We don’t want to be told by clever teenagers how AI can make us human. We want to be our human selves, interacting with the machine in interesting and cool ways so we can finally accelerate ourselves into teams of happy and productive humans.
